Brian Condon has over 20 years experience as a consultant and business developer.

His work includes negotiating joint ventures in Ukraine during the time Ukraine became an independent country in the early 1990s. Subsequently he managed scenario planning and technology strategy for businesses and government at PA Technology.
He led the work of the Media, IT and Telecoms team in business development activity and client relationships as Managing Director of Close Brothers Corporate Finance until late 2002.

In 2003, he founded Complexity Group. He now works across the private and public sectors problem-solving and advising on decision-making in complex environments. He specialises in strategy formulation and implementation and in resolving the dilemmas inherent in making strategy work in human terms. He has a PhD in Physics from the University of St Andrews, Fife, Scotland.

He is an investor in and on the Boards of two early stage businesses
  • Community Broadband Network, a social enterprise working with communities on Next Generation Broadband and active in the digital policy arena
  • Aquafuel Research Limited, a venture-backed UK company with a set of patented technologies for renewable combined heat and power (CHP). Aquafuel has a number of commercial CHP projects in development

Brian is a member of the Frontline Club which champions independent journalism, the R&D Society and the Royal Television Society. He works with Amplified, a not-for-profit organisation that uses social media to enable and encourage community participation around events, conferences and public conversations. He blogs at digital-citizen.co.uk, has other blogging activity on Posterous such as DigitalCitizen and Things We Made for UB40 and he uses Audioboo for podcasts. He specialises in realtime and near-realtime media for his work especially with Amplified.
