Our clients say they like the way we work . . .

Complexity Group works across the interfaces of business, technology and public policy and is a network of highly experienced senior professionals. We are able to take an entrepreneurial approach to our projects – taking on risk-sharing and success-based fees as each client’s situation needs. All the work we do is conducted by small teams working at senior level.
Here are some examples of our recent work. They are all 'real' and we have reference clients you could speak to.

Bridging the funding gap

We were approached by a group of leading academic institutions to help them think through bridging the funding gap between invention disclosure and mainstream seed finance.

Focused market review and process development
We undertook a detailed review of the market in the UK, US and Israel and developed recommendations for a fund structure acceptable to academic institutions, investors and government. We also developed a process that would allow academic institutions to monitor and manage intellectual property more effectively.

Benefits of our work
The client group benefited from a pragmatic approach to structuring investment in the early stages of commercialisation. Key elements of the structure have been adopted by a number of leading institutions both independently as a group.

Generating additional revenue streams

One of the UK’s top ten academic institutions asked us to conduct a review of Third Stream funding in the context of their own initiatives and broader market best practice.

Clarity of thinking about realistic strategic goals
We reviewed current operations in this area as well as broader institutional goals and provided specific, actionable recommendations around significant additional revenue opportunities

Benefits of our work
The client was able to act on market tested recommendations and improve third stream revenue and administration costs.

Collaborating effectively

A group of small specialist institutions had the problem of developing their intellectual property in the most effective way.

Working together to develop shared and owned strategic intent
We worked together with a wide range of institutions to bring together a group that would benefit from shared services in developing intellectual property.

Together with the group we defined a series of services that could be provided to the group and give support to the process of commercialisation and dissemination of intellectual property.

Benefits of our work
As a result of the first phase of this work a group of specialist institutions has had an opportunity to share their concerns and aspirations and has been able to work together to develop an answer that will allow them to collaborate effectively.
